juju rogers | from the life of a good for nothing

Julian Rogers aka Juju Rogers is a young Berlin based hiphop artist. Being the child of an American GI from New Orleans and a German mother with Austrian roots, Juju always got to know the best of both worlds through is parents. Born and raised bilingual in Schweinfurt, a small city in the south of Germany, he grew up with the problems, struggles as well as opportunities that both cultures presented to him. Though HipHop wasn’t his first mingling with music, he was listening to his father’s record collection and took trumpet lessons. At the age of fourteen he started to discover his own taste in music and his own style of singing and rapping. After three semesters at Bamberg University he decided to move to Berlin, where he met Figub Brazlevic and Teknical Development. Shortly after, they founded a hiphop band called Man Of Booom. His album „From The Life Of A Good For Nothing“ was produced by beat makers such as Twit One, Tufu, JuSoul, Knowsum and many more and features guests such as Oddisee and Mic Donet.

Out and available on Jakarta Records / Bandcamp. Stream the entire LP after the jump.

the beauty in all

„The Beauty In All“ is the upcoming instrumental album by iTunes Hip-Hop Album of the Year-Award winner Oddisee. Available October 1st via Mello Music Group, pre-order on iTunes or Bandcamp. And that’s what the producer says of the new album:

„The Beauty In All“ is about the flaws, & mistakes that give life its character & worth. How even ignorance can give light to knowledge. For me, not knowing how to do something & still trying is apart of the evolutionary process. The slight mutations from artist to artist through out the generations giving birth to new ideas, methods & eventually genres. If the instructions to everything we’re presented in perfect tutorials, I may have never deviated from the teacher. This record is dedicated to imperfection & the sense of pride & accomplishment we get from our struggles. Hopefully you listen to this record & reflect on the ups & downs of life & see The Beauty In All.

people hear what they see

oddisee - people hear what they see

Oddissee’s much-anticipated new album album „People Hear What They See“ is out now via Mello Music Group. Get the first leak „Way In, Way Out“ as free download. Stream the album below and bag it via iTunes or Bandcamp.

„This album is about influence, inspiration, perception & reality. Every song was written in an outside environment, so that I could observe the subjects that would become my subject matter. All too often in Hip Hop, reality is limited to that of the artists own, actual experiences. People Hear What They See is my attempt to liberate the MC from those constraints & allow reality to be penned other than my own. Listening to congressmen & lawyers converse on the steps of the supreme court inspired ‚American Greed‘, Watching a couple argue over the phone in a bar inspired ‚Maybes‘. By having a visual representation of my subject matter, my hopes are that the listener will see them through the worlds & melodies of my songs.“
