Ondatropica is a musical collaboration lead by Mario Galeano and Will Holland. The foundation of the project was laid in a three week recording session at the legendary Discos Fuentes in Medellin, Colombia. It was there that over 40 musicians came together to revisit, revive and celebrate tropical music of the country.

Damon Albarn (Gorillaz, Blur), Tony Allen and Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) founded their supergroup „Rocket Juice and the Moon“. During the last year the group recorded a couple of dozen instrumentals, the final 18 tracks on the album features Erykah Badu, M.anifest, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and the Malian keyboardist Cheick Tidiane Seck. It’s a mix of Afrobeat, Afrofunk and pure Funk. Tony Allen gives that touch of Africa. The voices of Albarn and Badu, when she’s implicated, are perfect for this kind of music, and they adjust to the beat. Purchase via iTunes.
Israeli superstar Idan Raichel and Malian guitar virtuoso Vieux Farka Touré first met at an airport in Germany in 2008 while both were on tour. From this chance encounter an artistic kinship was born, culminating in an unscripted recording session that took place one afternoon in November 2010 in a small Tel Aviv studio. Joined by Israeli bassist Yossi Fine and Malian calabash player Souleymane Kane, Idan and Vieux improvised a masterful selection of songs that capture the unbridled creativity and inspired collaboration of these four brilliant musicians. The Touré-Raichel Collective was formed and the songs they recorded are the foundation of the album „The Tel Aviv Session“.
