nxworries | yes lawd!

nxworries-yes-lawd-2016

Last December, Anderson .Paak and producer Knxwledge put out the „Link Up & Suede“ EP, their first release as NxWorries. The Los Angeles duo have now announced their debut LP, „Yes Lawd!“, which will be released on October 21st via Stones Throw.

„On Yes Lawd!“, .Paak – who calls the album “my best work” – plays theatrically brash version of himself who sings like a ’70s superstar and talks shit like a stone cold player. But the performance is seeded with details from his life, which has seen a fair share of struggle and hard-won triumph. Meanwhile, Knx weaves a tapestry of sampled bits and live fragments—bass, brass and violin—that smooths everything over, reminding us that despite whatever struggle it took to get here… well, you already know the name: NxWorries.

Out October 21th, pre-order on Bandcamp, stream below.

Kaytranada | 99.9%

kaytranada-99-9percent

Montreal-based artist/producer Kaytranada’s new album ‘99.9%’ will be out on May 5th via XL Recordings. He announced the album on Benji B’s Montreal Special show on BBC Radio 1. The LP holds 15 tracks and features guest appearances by BADBADNOTGOOD, Karriem Riggins & River Tiber, Syd of the Internet Band, Vic Mensa, Craig David, Goldlink, Alunageorge, Phonte, Anderson.Paak, Shay Lia and Little Dragon.

The album is called 99.9% because as Kaytranada says: „I am never satisfied with my album and I am very indecisive.“ Fans have been asking for this full-length over the past few years he has been discussing for an equally long period of time so it makes sense that he would title the album this symbol of just barely incompleteness.“

The 16-track LP includes the previously released “Room In Here,” “Am I Wrong,” and “The Season/Carry Me.” ScHoolboy Q, The Game, BJ the Chicago Kid, Talib Kweli, Hi-Tek, 9th Wonder, and DJ Khalil all contribute to Malibu, which can be purchased on iTunes.

Some time ago Breezy Lovejoy made the transition to Anderson Paak. It seems like only yesterday (2012) that we were listening to “O.B.E.” vol. 1 and this Summer, he was the most talked about rapper on Dr Dre’s “Compton” album. Really happy to see talented people like Anderson Paak ‘make it’. Even happier to finally wrap our ears around his latest album titled “Malibu“, which is available via Steel Wool Records. With BJ the Chicago Kid featuring on “The Waters”, you know this was gonna be LiT like Christmas. On productional duties we have heavyweights such as Hi-Tek and Pomo. Of course .Paak gets some additional vocal support from The Game, Schoolboy Q and Talib Kweli. Like we said .Paak doing it big and still making that dope music! You can purchase the new album on iTunes if you haven’t done so already.
